ADHD Evaluation

Thoughtful ADHD care for children, adolescents, and adults.

Still Waters provides comprehensive ADHD evaluation and ongoing treatment for children, adolescents, and adults through in-person care in Clearfield and telehealth across Pennsylvania when appropriate.

Our process looks beyond a quick checklist. We consider developmental history, daily functioning, co-occurring psychiatric symptoms, sleep, medications, and relevant physical-health factors before developing an individualized treatment plan.

Thorough ADHD Evaluations

ADHD can affect focus, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, follow-through, school, work, and relationships. A good evaluation should look at the full picture, not just a quick checklist.

At Still Waters, ADHD evaluations are completed through a structured clinical process. The goal is diagnostic clarity and a responsible treatment plan.

What the evaluation may include:

🗣️ Clinical interview covering current concerns, symptoms, and goals
📋 Standardized ADHD rating scales completed by the patient and others when appropriate
🧠 Review of attention, impulsivity, executive functioning, motivation, and emotional regulation
🧒 Childhood and developmental history to determine when symptoms began
🏫 Evaluation of functioning at school, work, home, and in relationships
🔍 Screening for overlapping conditions, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, bipolar symptoms, sleep problems, and substance use
🩺 Review of medical history, medications, sleep, and relevant physical-health factors
👥 Collateral information from parents, partners, teachers, or previous records when needed
🧭 Diagnostic feedback and individualized treatment recommendations

Treatment Options and Medication Policy

ADHD treatment is individualized and may include education, practical executive-function strategies, supportive psychotherapy interventions, medication, and attention to relevant sleep, nutritional, hormonal, or medical concerns.

Medication is considered when clinically appropriate and agreed upon through shared decision-making. An evaluation does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis or medication prescription.

Controlled medications are not started through an online-only evaluation. An in-person visit is required before controlled medication may be prescribed. This supports appropriate assessment, physical monitoring, and safer ongoing treatment.
